The Plumea is a cast resin feather with the LED buried inside the form rather than mounted behind it, so the light reads through the material and picks out every carved barb and quill line. Switched off it holds its own as a wall sculpture, which is the practical argument for it: one wall fixing does the work of both an artwork and an ambient light source, and there is no dark rectangle sitting on the wall during the day.

Resin was chosen over plaster or ceramic because it takes fine hand carving without chipping at the thin trailing edges, and because it transmits light evenly instead of blocking it. The integrated LED runs at 13W to 28W depending on size and delivers 910 lumens in the smaller unit and 1960 in the larger, enough to light a corridor or a bed wall on its own rather than needing a second source. Three step dimming moves between 3000K, 4500K and 6000K from the wall switch already in the room.

Two sizes are available, roughly 26 inches and 36 inches on the long axis, both only 2.36 inches deep so the fixture sits close to the wall and does not catch a shoulder in a narrow hallway. Three finishes are offered in white, blue and pink, and the piece can be mounted vertically or horizontally, which means the same fixture works above a headboard, along a stair wall or as a pair flanking a mirror. It is hardwired at 110V.
