Copper That Gets Better
A finish that deepens with every winter instead of looking tired.

The Brassano is cast from solid H65 brass rather than brass plated steel, which is the difference between a lantern that develops an even patina over years outdoors and one that blisters and streaks rust the first time the coating is scratched. The surface is treated against oxidation before it ships, so it starts bright and darkens slowly and evenly. Structurally the castings are heavy walled, between 6.61 and 14.97 pounds depending on size, which keeps the lantern stable on an exposed gate post in wind.
The shade is high transparency tempered glass, not plastic. Glass holds its clarity permanently where polycarbonate hazes under UV, and tempering means a knock from a ladder or a branch produces granules rather than shards. Light passes through clean and bright without the yellowing that makes older outdoor lanterns look dim long before the lamp has failed. The assembly is sealed to IP54 throughout, which covers dust and splashing water from any angle.
The Brassano comes in two power supplies and the choice is made at checkout. The solar version carries its panel in the flat roof cap along with its own light source, so it needs no wiring at all and can go up on a finished wall in an afternoon. The hardwired version replaces that cap with a clear textured glass roof topped by a turned brass finial, and takes a standard E27 lamp on a 110V to 220V supply, which is the one to choose where a cable already runs or where steady output matters more than convenience. Both share the same brass body, the same glass sides and the same footprint. Three sizes run from 9.8 to 15.7 inches square, suitable for fence caps, gate piers and low walls.
Size Chart
| Size | Footprint | Height | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| Small | 9.84 x 9.84 in | 11.81 in | 6.61 lb |
| Medium | 11.81 x 11.81 in | 13.78 in | 8.86 lb |
| Large | 15.75 x 15.75 in | 17.72 in | 14.97 lb |
Heights and weights above are for the hardwired version. The solar version shares the same footprint and sits slightly shorter and lighter, because its panel cap replaces the glass roof and brass finial.

Screw it on and let the afternoon sun do the rest.
Enough glow to find the gate, never so much that it floods the garden.
Every fixture is specified by how the material ages, not by how it photographs.
One considered fixture does more for a space than three forgettable ones.
